Day Fifteen

Looks like I'm on a bit of a drawing kick.

For whatever reason, I've been picking up my pencils more and more recently. Nothing too awesome, and usually just sketches and doodles, but its far more than I've done in the last few years. I still don't honestly know what my muse is, but sometimes I wonder if its not staring me right back in the face on a usually daily basis.

I've been using my prisma pencils a lot too. I always forget how much more fun it is to color things by hand rather than on the computer. There's no room for error, you don't get Ctrl+Z. You need to make sure whatever goes on the paper, is what you wanted.

More than that though, I'm starting to like my pencil sketches more and more uncolored. Maybe it's because I put so much time into the first sketch that I don't want to screw it up with a blotchy pen or coloring it wrong and destroying it.

Lets see how long this actually lasts though...

Day Fourteen

Alright, so updating this thing proper.

Just recently went to the Ren Fair in Sterling, NY over the weekend. It was the Highland Fling/Celtic Weekend. This is one of the few times I can get Mike to dress up in costume, so I enjoy it. It was also Damon's b-day, so that was fun.

This year I had a brand new costume to wear. Normally I either rent one, or just wear normal clothes, but had always wanted my own good costume to wear. We found a seamstress on ebay that had amazing reviews and ordered a dress, specifically made for me. When it showed up finally after 2 months it was better looking than I had expected. So kudos to that lady.

I think next year though, I'm going to see if maybe me and mike can go alone. Not that I don't love going places with friends, but some times its just funner with the two of us alone.
